    Unusual assist hooks part II

Just another idea that I have been fooling around with . I have some reservations on how this setup will "ride" on the jig as far as keeping the hook points away from the jig as opposed to the jig laying in between the hooks . Gonna give them a try on November 1st as I will be on the Canyon Runner for stripers . Still have a couple more ideas for assist hooks and will post as I work the details out. Any question comments or concerns will be greatly appreciated.

Materials List for 5oz and 7oz jigs

    Hook: Mustad 7982HD (CLOSED)
    size 4/0-5/0

    Kevlar cord- 500lb

Owner solid ring- size 6.5 (300lb)

2:1 red heat shrink tubing 3/16"

IMHO ... I don't like shrink tube on assist hooks, it makes it too stiff and to be honest anything that can chew through that Kevlar deserves to swim free

nice setup. I've used the regular assist hooks for bass and they worked well. Seemed like a lot of fish were hitting the top of the jig and missing the standard bottom hook.
    Always swimming against the tide
