Just when I thought I had seen all the variations in assist hooks I stumble across these by Gamakatsu, some even glow in the dark. Now I just need to find a source for them.
Any body ever use them ?

I wonder if it really matters to the fish? Most of the time jigging you are working on a reaction strike. If they got close enough to stare at the hooks, I doubt they gonna eat the lead. Like the red hook fad. Charge more for less quality. Use them 2times and you have a silver nickel hook.
The glow hook is easily acheivable with some glow powder paint. Heat up the hook and dip it.
For that matter the other dotted hook can easily be reproduced the same way. A coffee stir straw packed with powder and touched against a hot hook.

WHERE THE HELL CAN I GET EM!??! I WANT THEM!!
I like the glow idea for deep drop and night jigging...
Nothing to it. I had some old powder, a lighter and one of my assist hooks.
My powder was a little clumpy, I should have broken it up a little better. If I was actually doing a jig, it would have to put through a flour sieve. Thats why the finish didn't turn out totally smooth, but for this its fine.
Anyway, I heated the hook with my lighter, wiped off the black with a rag then dipped it in. Heated it a little more. It glowed like crazy, but couldn't get a picture.
After going through all this, I don't see the point. 90% of jigs come with some glow on them, even if its a belly strip ( At least mine do ) so to me it ends up being a lot of work for not much reward.
If I want glow, I think I'll just stick with a glow jig. But I did give it a shot.
I always thought the point was to hide the hooks. I'd put the glow on the jig. imo
I will admit that I have some red line, red hooks, and a million other gadgets that will supposedly catch more fish. Some have been good, some complete failures.
It's not to say there's nothing to these, but 90 percent of fishing tackle is made to catch fishermen, not fish...lol
Always swimming against the tide
