    Thank you

Thank you, I be working hard trying to get things ready for the upcoming holiday season. The red one is abalone, I had some to use up that you use heat with. Now I can finaly get some of Kevin's good stuff that doesn't crack all over the place when you put them on a smaller rod.
The rods are from the batson line 7' 2-pc 1/8 - 3/8 oz. I beleive they are the 842 RX 6 rods, I'll have to look.

Have a good one folks and thanks for the posts. I just be here doing what I love the most for over 30 years. I have been trying to get some of the more intense wraps down, but I cannot make myself satisifyed with the out come and just cut them off.

I am using a hand wraper and am thinking of a power wraper, maybe that will make things easier. I love the renzetti, but will make due with a Batson or PacBay for now I think...

    Tight Lines........Lynn

Funny on the wrapper - I find myself hand wrapping smaller rods these days - I've got a Pac Bay power wrapper, but for inshore rods, I get better results by hand wrapping.

I do have the upgraded chuck for the Pac Bay - I strongly recommend that.

    pacbay wraper

I am leaning to that wraper, with the upgraded chuck. I don't think that I will ever get rid of the hand wraper, I got my original from Clemonds in 1978/79 eara. I needed something longer so I built one out of western red cedar that is 48" long and it sure has filled the bill for me.

I made a decission tonight, being an ole' fart, I am going to keep trying and get to produce a rod that is half as nice as the ones that Rodwinder does, AMEN...

Living in western Colorado I get a lot of smaller rods, fly and spinn and a few casting, but lately I have been getting orders from SF, Ca area and now from Texas where I visited a short time ago. Not much fishing time in Texas, I got there the same time that Hermine came ashore....Weeeee

My next personal rod will be for a Avet SX MC and maybe even in the two speed. I have a couple and really like the work and drags of these reels.....I want to fish the gulf coast area for some grouper and my personal quest is a Amberjack and a Cobia....

Keep winding folks, there can never be too many rods on the wall, some collect guns, knives, coins ect. But for me its custom rods, my wife said I will never wear out the collection that I have aquired over the last 30 years. I still have the first bass casting rod that I wraped, it was a Lew's speed stick that I took apart and fixet it up.....my kids say that they want to have a couple picks before she gets rid of the rest of them....Lynn
