Torium anti-reverse failure fix?
Well...I was experimenting with the drag on my torium today. Tied straight to a 20# weight to see if I could lift it off the ground, I could, but still got a little creep from the drag. On about the third try I hear a pop and the anti reverse is shot. Reel now turns both ways. I assume it can be fixed, what is the best way to assure this doesn't happen again? I was hoping to fish with it Friday, any way to put a band-aid on it?
Thanks.

How old is the reel? In other words is it under warranty? If not take it to a repair center and they should be able to fix it for you but be forwarned if you lock the drag down it will happen again. I blew my Torium 20 up 3 times in 5 trips this past summer, so I suggest you don't lock the drag down and use your thumb when you need more pressure. That is all you can do for that reel. They don't hold up to max drag. Period.

This needs to be sticky'd to to the top of the jigging forum, along with a knot thread.

I guess it's time to get a Saltiga and use the torium for trolling!

Blew up the anti-reverse three times on my 30. Found a perfect fix--bought a different reel. Found the saltist was much more robust.
