I'm trying to build my first rod (haddock bait stick) and am looking for advice. I got an old Gutts Butts GBU120 blank and have to cut the tip. I would appreciate any advice on how snugly the tip should fit into the blank. Do I wrap the blank with thread (inside the tip "tube") for the tip like the underwrap for the guides?
