I bought two used penn int. II 80 SW.
Obviously, first thing I did was taking off the old line and lubricating...
But I discovered a lever under the left side plate (see picture). I don't know what this is for and most of all how to use it.
On the side plate it says : To adjust Shift Point :
Slightly loosen countersunk lock screws and with handle against anti-reverse stop move quadrant pin so gears and dogs are perfectly aligned. Always re-tighten screws and replace cover plate. Refer to manual for details.
Is anybody able to tell me ??
Am planning some BFT fishing this coming season...
;-)
PS : By any chance, would anyone of you have an exploded view of this specific reel?
Good morning.....What you have there is first-run 80 2-speed reel made in the 1980's. They only stayed with that reel for a short period of time due to parts issues/design.They moved on to a different type of shifting system after this reel which worked rather well. This shifting system had to be adjusted to allow for proper alignment of the gears.I have copies of the 10 Step procedure to align the gears plus the diagram of the 80S-SW reels if you'd like them. Contact me either through email or I could give you a call. I could walk you through it or just fax the information over to you.
