Tackle help for fishing bridges around St Simons Is Ga

I'll be vacationing on St Simons island at the end of the month and will target the bridges leading onto the island. I need some suggestions on tackle and bait that will do well. I will be using med fast to med heavy rods and reels. Also would night be better than day or sunrise and sunset? Thanks for any help.

I wish I had seen this sooner. I guess your trip is already over. Hope you did well. Dusk always seems to be pretty good at the Nassau sound bridge a little south of St. Simons but if the mullet are thick then plan on being there all day.
