    Staurt Rod tips

I am looking to order a new rod tip for a Offshore Angler Ocean Master IGFA 80 rod because the screw backed out of the tip and the roller is lost. BUT I have no idea how to come up with what size I need. I don't see any markings on the tip (all of the other guides have them) I have a tape measure, and a caliper (not really sure how to use it though) Measuring with the tape measure the rod tip/roller guide is 9/16 of an inch. Because I've used a couple of tools in my life I know 1/2 is somewhere around 13mm. Soooo the biggest tip I see listed is a "32" which according to mudhole.com is 0.500" or 12.70mm

My guess is that would be the size I need, however for $30.00 bucks I prefer not to guess. Any insight?

I'd suggest not replacing the whole roller top - just the roller and screws. You'd likely do more damage to the tip of the rod trying to remove the roller top.

Worst case you can buy the cheapest tip-top (ie: smallest diameter) and move the missing parts to your rod.

You can get whole tiptops from Mudhole, although Flatliner or Paul708 may have them (I don't know)

you could also try Fishfinder (Capt Joe Shute) to see if he has just the replacement roller and screws

That is a very stout roller top. All rollers are done in 64ths. So a 9/16ths measurement would be 36/64ths (the largest tip made). Is there any number on the frame of the roller?

Well after shooting off an email to the contact us form on Stuarts site, a few questions and a picture of my top he concluded that it is a 24.

    Very good customer service there.

This was my plan. However Stuart says they sell the parts, not sure what the pricing is yet. He said he'd get back to me.
