Spinal 400gm jigging rod

I just finished putting together my newest jigging rod to be coupled with a Stella 20K. I haven't fished it yet but the action and lifting power feel good. The picture is lifting 25#. I am looking forward to upsetting some large BFT with this one.

Did you do straight gold metallic on the guides? Or did you put nylon under the gold?

What is the theory on placing the butt/choker guide backwards? I've seen it done many times on the jigging rods and will the theory carry over to conventional jiggers?

It is gold thread over metallic silver. I did not use color preserver so some of the bling would show threw but not as overwelming as my shorts/legs.I put the stripper guide on backwards due to a couple line wraps on the stripper guide during a recent fishing trip on a different rod. I'm not sure if it will make a bit of difference but thought I would try it.
