Question Spin reel and rod for tossing plugs to tuna

Looking for some suggestions for my Christmas present

I wan't to get a spin rod & reel to toss swimming plugs and big poppers to tuna. When I say tuna I mean 40-80 lb Yellowfin or Longfin for the most part.

I was going to originally purchase an Accurate Twin Spin 30 but I've read to many bad things about them reliability wise. Now I am thinking Diawa Saltiga, Shimano Stella, or Van Stall 300.

Rod wise if anyone can recommend a stout offshore spin rod I would appreciate it. Something that can handle 65lb braid and one of the reels above.

    Thanks

    Brian

Brian..how ya doing ..i think alot of the problems have been fixed with the accurate. there are a few good blanks for this, depending on how far you need to cast. if longer cast are needed you may want a longer rod..but in the 7' range the new SS seekers are SWEET. or maybe a calstar GF..if you want something UNIQUE that fits the 30..give me a call. i havent released it yet

    SB,
Paul's right on the blanks, the Seeker or Calstar, perhaps St. Croix, given your reel choices and polly 7' overall. Be sure to have zirconium guides in whatever you choose to cover the braid thing. Fuji graphite reel seat...

    Cool

Shimano Stella 4000 and Tallus Blue Water Rod not stout but that is where the fun is. I have caught tuna from 15 to 60 pounds with this outfit.

What i have used up here in NE for the Schoolie Bluefins is The St Croix Premier Saltwater Series 7 Foot Medium Heavy it is rated 20-40 with a Fast action I use a penn 9500 with 50lb Power Pro

The rod has plenty of Action for throwing plugs to Heavy Metal and has the Back bone of a stand-up rod I personally have boated 80lbrs and have a buddy that has bested 100lbs more than once

I think it is....you may just want to hold off or talk to Paul about his "secret" weapon. I think you'll be intrigued by this rod and its capabilities

    Right Paul?
