slipping reel seat
I have a spinning rod and after a year of use the reel seet came loose from the blank so it now spins around the blank. Are there any reasonable fixes for this problem or am I better off sending it in for repair?

Is it a custom rod or a production rod? You can either do 1 of 2 things, depending on if you have the stuff to actually do the work. The reel seat probably wasn't fitted right when made. You can either try to remove the foregrip and adjust the backing under the seat (not sure about production rods but most of the time its masking tape wrapped to be just slightly smaller than the ID fo the seat) and then re-bond it and then re-bond the foregrip down. If you don't have the stuff or the time/tools I'd find someone that builds custom rods and it should be a fairly quick and inexpensive fix. Here's a link to a custom rod building board that has guys in your area that own their own businesses http://www.rodbuilding.org/directory/. Just shoot one of them an e-mail and I'm sure one of them can help you out.

Thanks for the advice. I have no experience building rods so I will probably take it to a guy I know, I thought I'd ask though since it's always fun to learn something new. It's an Okuma (I know
) guide series rod, good while it lasted but disappointed in an obvious QC flaw...

Drill a couple of small holes on the off side of the seat. Then fill the voids with as much super glue as you can get into it. That has worked for me in the past. Should work fine on a spinner.
