I personally think its a great reel. We have one we use as our Shotgun WWWWB reel. Its got the almost equivalent of the 80w's drag. Its not really suitable for planer rod applications, but we'll only go there if you need to.

Its a perfect stand up reel in my opinion. Able to put lots of heat on a fish, with good reliability, fairly light in comparison to the 80w, with good capacity.

Post my opinion on the tiagra 50lrs!

Awesome reels, reel smooth drags,And very corrosion resistent.cant go wrong outfitting A boat with these. Also note that they have the 80lb drag system in them and you can use 80lb line not just 50 and attain more drag pressure.

Tiagras are probably the most reliable reels on the market. They are battle tested and time proven. The 50wlrs could be the best stand-up reel due to its compact size with exceptional power.

I swear by 'em. Long range/80w drag capabilities with the compact body of a 50w. super light and stout drag systems. helped me whoop a 500# blue one in 30 minutes on standup

Is there an LRS 50 that isn't a wide? That would be a useful reel in terms of weight.
