    Shimano Beastmaster 50/80 question

I am working on cleaning and relubing these reels. The carbon fiber drag is dry . Should this be dry or lubed? If it needs to be lubed what kind of grease should be used? I was on anouther site and found an article that the guy said this should be lubed. It appears that the ones in my reels were never greased,as the are pure white.HELP!

Yeah they should be greased. VERY cool reels but hell to find parts for.

I bought 2 -30/50 and 2- 50/80 on penn international tuna sticks for $650.00 for all 4. Thought I did pretty good. What kind of grease on the carbon fiber? I am using Quantim Hot Sauce on the rest of bearings and gears.

Cal's Drag and Reel Grease or Shimano's is the best. Also look to replace the plastic side plate on those reels. The plastic they used is inferior and tends to melt.

Anytime, parts like i said are HARD to find. However, you can find them. There are some places out there that also specialize in servicing them. You look hard enough, you'll find them.

I also believe others on here have input.
