I live in the North Bay Area, CA....around San Franciso. I dont have a boat so I will be doing surf and pier fishing. I have a 6'6" Medium heavy Ugly stick that I bought as a combo however with this rod I cant cast as far when I need too.

I like Ugly Sticks because they are not that expensive and are durable for the money. I am also a beginner fisher so I really dont need the best of everything but something that will last and is not really cheaply made.


I really would really like to catch perch but mostly anything that will bite. So what would you recommend with 10' ugly stick surf rod medium?
