"Salt Free" on rod's and reel's,

I've been using the "salt free" product to flush my Honda's after saltwater use, and like what I see so far. After the first use my raw water stream became much stronger and smoother. Have been tempted to use it as a wash on my gear as-well, but haven't done so yet. Anyone got any opinion's? Currently still use Dawn and water.Frank

    Frank,

I use dawn and water on mine as well. I started getting some corrosion on my Penn International baitcaster so I started using Salt X and it hasn't hurt it.

Saltaway for me on most everything including the motor flush but nothing beats a good scrub with a mitt and suds for rods and reels

While I mostly use Ivory Liquid on my rods, at least a couple of times a year we spray the rods and rollers with Salt-x - I don't know how similar it is to Salt Free though...

    The results have been good.

Several years with out any issues ,

but with that being said ,I was recently told not to use it on Eisenglass ?

We use Salt Away Product ,there are few competitors out there but imho it is the best one

Thank's for the updated replie's. Salt Away was and is the product I use on my outboard's to flush them, the stuff really work's. I had a much stronger stream after the first use. They are flushed after every trip. Frank

I use it on everything ,,,even my snow blower after the season.

in the fall when my down easter would sit for weeks before geting pulled we rigged up a fresh water hose to by pass the raw water intake and run saltaway thru it ,it was amazing after sitting for a week or more you could see the scale come out the exhaust on startup.

on my yammaha 4 stroke i rinse with fresh run salt away and just leave the salt away in the engine

if i am in a hurry or return late at night i spray the entire vessel

I am sold on this stuff

The co. is good about replacing parts and even spray applicators if you ask nice

not sure how old you are but if you remeber the turtle wax spray applicators ? Turtle still own the molds and this is what you get from them to this day .

Shortfin is exactly on the money

We hav used Salt Away on everything and on the rods and reel we use salt away n a buck and soft mitt and then a good rinse.

    The gear remains as new

Great product..buy it by the gallon it goes far but with all the use its' the way to purchase it
