Rod Suggestions for an Avet MXL

I just bought my dad an Avet MXL 5.8 spooled with 50lb JB for his birthday and was wondering what rod I should have him put this on.It will be used for striper,drum,fluke,seabass,etc. and maybe mahi or schoolie bft if we ever get offshore.Last year I bought a Trevalla rod for a baitrunner reel that I use for chunkin striper and I loved it.Handeled stripers to 30lbs with great feel and so I was leaning toward these rods but would like to here some other suggestions.

I also wont rule out a custom either being as I got him the reel so he will be buying the rod

check out my 7'allround rod. it has fuji turbo guides, and would be a good match for that reel. and it is priced ok at just over 200
i just did 2 for snapps. for the same thing
its a pretty popular model for the money

one has fuji turbo guides, they are a little heavier duty

Thats some reel has great drag not much it wont bring in..

I fish it with a custom calstar 700ml & 700m both rods work great with that reel..I like the fuji H/D casting guides..I have fished them for most larger fish..Bass small tuna to cobia & grouper they work great..

going with a different custom
the Honey lami, that the guys use for tog. striper chunking. old ground flukin, and tuna
that would be something special

Paul can you put any type of grip on that rod?Is that a graphite or glass blank,and whats that go for without the green paint?

any grips..sure, but some work better than others on this
the blank is a glass (light) with a parabolic action,
it is a pinhookers favorite up north
extremly popular,
it is the same blank in my acid wrap video on my site
also the same blank used to catch the tuna, that is on the magzine cover on my site

pricing varies depending on guides,,usually 325-385 (or so)
rod length is usually 7'8"
