    Rod suggestions for 30 VSWs?

Looking for some rod suggestions for Penn 30 VSWs. Wondering what others are using and prefer?

Guides - All roller or just stripper and top?

Butts - Slick but or aluminum?

Thinking of going with all roller and aluminum butts. Looking to spend in the sub $300 range per rod and looking for recommendations. Targets will be dolhin, tuna etc. Thanks

For the money and the warranty you can't beat the Tsunami Stand Up rods.

The 5930R (5'9" Med/Hvy 30-50 Speed Butt) and the 5950R (5'9" Hvy 50-80 Speed Butt) are great rods.
Roller tip and stripper, Gold Titanium Nitride coaged guides, great action and a complete 5 year replacement warranty no questions asked.

They are about $110-$140 depending on where you get them.

I have 8 of them and I love em.

Leeward rod company in Miami, Albert does amazing work. We have 6 of his rods from 30lb-80lb with simple wraps. Rods are about 5 years old and still look brand new. Worth the extra money for custom tackle, plus if you have any problems the builder will back his product 100%. Go with an aluminum butt, but as far as guides it is personal choice. I like all roller for heavier line test and ceramic for my whitey and sail rods. If your crew is tough on tackle go with roller guides for durability. If you get standard guides look for Fuji SIC, silicon carbide, if they are still available. I have a few rods with SIC guides and they take some abuse and have not chipped yet.
