Rod & reel guys; I need a recommendation for this tactic.

I could use some advise as to what rod and reel to recommend for my circle hook jigs and this tactic.
http://deadeyelures.com/about.html
I was questioned about a good setup for this tactic by a customer and all I could say was that I use Shimano TN 30s on a Cape Fear 7' MOW 20 - 40. I just never gave it much thought as I was happy with the rigs I have used for more than 6 years. Well, Cape Fear is gone now and many new reels have hit the market since I have been a buyer so I need a little help.
I would like to recommend a few spinning & conventional rigs that would work well with this tactic on the site. 3 - 6oz jigs targetting Snapper, Grouper, AJ, Cobia.
Thanks,

Now you're going to have to take my thoughts with a grain of salt having never done that kind of fishing, but it seems like the tactic is similar to Shimano's Lucanus style. While the jig looks different the concept is similar. They designed a rod and reel specifically for that, so maybe that is somewhere to start.

there are a few pretty good setups for that.
the calstar 700M
St croix M series blanks in the length you need.
or the st croix SW series (woven base).
lami has 2 blanks also that would work.
i use a softer tip lami glass blank.
and the CGBT series has good choices depending on length.
