My shop will be offering rod building classes this fall. I have designed a system of rod components that are 'modular', allowing for easy installation of cork or foam, rod blanks that offer "northeast tapers" that are perfect for Fluke, Blackfish, stripers and bottom fish. How about a Tuna Jig stick with the right guides, the right grips, the right reel seat and gimbal.
You can build a Killer Rod at about half the cost of a good custom rod, and it's easy!

Update:The classes will be for 2 nights at a total cost of $25. They will run from 6:30pm-8:30pm, email us for dates or details. As a point of interest you will learn how to build offshore standup rods and Tuna jig sticks as well.
We will also have advanced classes for those that would like to learn diamond or chevron wraps, inlays, epoxy techniques, and rod repair.
