Hey guys,
Im busy building and have not had a chance to do anything besides build, but will get back to video's real soon. That, and some other stuff that I need to do for the site. Well, Im trying to wind down to get some sleep, but wanted to post this up as I was thinking about it the other day.
This post is going to try to spark some ideas into where you can go to buy equipment, tools, etc, from places other than the suppliers (things that are sold down the street, that we use in rodbuilding).
I think its pretty cool to find stuff that I use all the time at local shops, hardware stores, etc that I use in rodbuilding and almost always I get them for less money.
So, here we go:
Local independent Hardware store:
Epoxy (5 / 30 minute), drywall adhesive tape, absolutely perfect 1/4" sable hair finish brushes, masking tape, sanding screen, sandpaper, lathe tools.
Local Ben Franklin Craft store:
glitter for finish, gold foil, marking pens, china markers, finish tins, paints for marbling, adhesives, decals
My Dentist's office:
The tools that they use to scrape the heck outa yer teeth every 6 months are great for packing and moving thread. FYI, They throw them away when one end breaks. They are usually free!
Well, thats what I have for now. Maybe y'all can add to the list and give us some ideas where to get stuff locally!!!
Kevin
