Hey guys/gals,
I recently built a 11 foot graphite surf rod getting ready for the spring striper run up here on the east coast and I ran into a small snag that caused concern. I have 5 out of 6 guides straight as an arrow, however I noticed my first largest guide is slightly off. I already had applied the 2 coats of finish to the guides and everything is 100% all set up. Now I tried to give the guide a slight bend to align it with its brothers and I heard a slight crack. I stopped immediately and checked the guide foot and finish and haven't notice any cracking in the finish nor seperating from the guide foot. I then whipped up a small batch of Threadmaster finish and dabbed the guide foot just incase of any future separating. Do you think I have done any harm here? Im sure we all have done this..
