Cool PROJECT IN COMPLETION STAGES - TACKLE ROOM

In order to be more organized the tackle room is on its way to be finished. I am going to outline the wall that has the door in it with custom made rod storage racks for almost everything we have. In the meantime the gear is piled up in the gym and it needs a home somewhere else.

Here are some pictures for the collection of the beginning and then the end. I love this stuff, I have done some much work over the years to the house this has to been the funnest project of all though!

I have going have a work bench in the center floor and the remainder of the walls with the storage bins that you see of lures and other misc gear (the short wall). The other short wall is going to get the rack system you see below for bibs boots and fishing clothes and cleaning supplies and rags. The last big wall will get gaff, other goody holders

The last and final thing is a full security system, with 220 connected to the door for unexpected borrowers or visitors

Its going to be sweet when its done.

Any one have any learning experiences in the same project or should of's ?

ps i did start the spackle job

that wire shelving is really expensive and it doesn't hold much weight.

i'm in the process of building an 18'x20' shed/workshop myself. still need to decide on shelving.

Awesome room! I recently reworked my shed, I build shelving with plywood and used clear plastic shoe boxes. Two things I also did was lined the walls with peg board that was already painted white, that way every bit of wall space can be used and easily re-arranged. The other was put up tracks for bins http://www.quantumstorage.com/
They work great and can be re-arranged if need be.

I got one of those rubbermaid rolling carts that is extremely handy. I made my workbench high enough so that the cart fit under it so it is out of the way yet easy to get to. Works great moving gear from the shed to the truck or boat.

Good luck with the project - Rob

May want to consider using "standards" for shelving..spaced every 16" along one wall , floor to ceiling, this way you can change your options without having to find studs/install anchors ect, the shelf brackets come in 10" 12" and shelving is fabricated from 3/4 ply, and along with plastic box's you have an infinite amount of storage options.

dont forget your ceilings. Its like a whole extra wall that doesnt get used. We have retractable rod racks in our ceiling so rods stay out of the way. Its on a pulley cleat system. One rack hold 8 internationals from 30w to 50w and another rack with 8 king tournament rods, plus another rack with misc. rods and reels.

    Looks good!!

Yeah while I am it I should finish the addition that was started and never finished HA Wanna trade??? I would be glad to get the house knocked out lol But I gotta stop the world to do that lol

Here is some pics of the rest of the junk that belongs in there, its currently stacked in the gym.... Too much stuff. Shimano Tackle Bags is my hero!!! Thanks Off The Hook http://www.hinchmarina.com/

I gotta have organization or life would be difficult just as it was 2 years ago. To many tournaments all over to screw around.

Really stoked to get back to VA and get it all finished up!!!
