Question Penn Senator reel on a 2 or 3 piece rod

I need a high capacity (500 yards +) fishing reel to use for kite fishing from the surf. I think I will start with 15lb or 20lb mono, but would like to be able to move to 30lb later if I find some big fish

I'm thinking about the Penn Senator 113HLW

Now would it work OK on a 15-30lb "travel rod" (3 piece)? The only ones I could find was

fishing from the beach we use this http://daiwa.com/Reel/detail.aspx?ID=190 the 50 one.

The penn is great but the daiwa is prettier, smoother and got better recuperation i think. It only get 350 yards of 30lb mono so I would put some power pro in it. Never fished with kites b4, but reeling in 400 meters will make a difference for sure lol

The penn will stay alive for as long as you want though lol

Thanks, babalaza. The Daiwa is cheaper and the ratio is much higher also. The ratio on the 113HLW is 3.25

My problem is the rod, I need to find a good 2 or 3 piece one so I can get it shipped to Brazil

I really want to buy a rod and reel soon. I don't find much time to go fishing and I want to play with the kite up to 500 meters from the beach

    Jer,

I've got a TLD star reel I'll send you for free it has 6:2.1 ratio, its star drag and it holds about 200-300 of 20lbs. you could put braid on there.and get all of the line capacity you need,if you want it it's yours.Reel is in brand new shape, let me know if you want it. I also might have a older model two piece surf rod that I can send to you also.I'll be @ the beach house this wknd. when I get back on Mon. I will let you know what I got,you pay shipping and its all yours.
