    Penn reels

Anyone use the penn fierce or battle spinning reels. I don't want to spend hundreds on a couple of nice reels to use in the surf/inlet.I saw these reels at Bass pro ,just wandering well built they and how long they will last with care. I now use 2 mitchell 300 that are about 25 years old,but they are showing their age.

It's what we're eating for supper!
I fish Penn Spinning reels and have 4. Light to heavy enough for big red drum in the surf.
Keep them washed and take apart to clean, oil and grease 2 or 3 times a year.
There seems to be 2 rules of thought. Buy good reels and keep them up or cheap reels and replace every couple of years.
    Either way buy decent rods.

    Penn Reel

I have a Penn Battle, it is a very good reel, smooth in operation and the drag starts smooth and stays that way on a long run....I also have a Finor/Ahab and a Okuma/Cedros that I like......with some care and attention a good reel is worth the investment for my likes.....Lynn
