    Penn Int. drag washer question

What year did Penn start using the Dura Drag setup? How can you tell the difference between the dura drag and the older HT100 setup?

    Penn Drag System

Good morning.....Penn has been using the Dura-drag system for about 4 years now (give or take a few months).I find it to be a much better drag system compared to the older HT-100 drags. They hold up longer and don't seem to lose much of a drag range even after a few full seasons of heavy fishing. The material/surface looks just about the same. The surface on the Dura-drags looks and feels a bit more raised and is of a harder substance than the HT-100.Plus the surface is slightly greased to maintain the drag under saltwater use better and to allow for a more smooth and consistent drag. Also, the Dura-drag should be combined with the rotory-tuned metal drag plate as a set.If you any questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Take care......Tom

    dura-drag

Good morning....They don't have a part number stamped on them, but for reference, the part number would be #117DN-50 for your 50 Internationals....#117DN-30 for your 30 class reel and so forth. You can always pull up a schematic at our website....www.pennreels.com..... or feel free to give us a call if you need any help.

    Take care.....Tom
