    penn fathomaster 620

i recently got my hands on an older penn downrigger that i was looking to spruce up. I am new to downriggers and was looking for opinions. Should i leave the cable on or replace it with braid? also, zwing or downrigger ball?

I am really just going to be using it for inshore trolling.....any suggestions would be appreciated.

    thanks

The cable make a noise(loud singing) when pulling it through the water.

Personally. I use 400 lb. mono.........also the same that I use on my outrigger lines.

The Z-Wing will get down and stay down - Without a doubt, but it is a bear to get back up if the boat is in gear. A downrigger ball - or better a pancake works better for me, because I can retrieve it without stopping the boat.
