    Penn battle 6000? Good or Bad

    Okay, Im settled on getting a Penn battle 6000 for pier fishing, surf fishing. Im not sure on what rod to get. Does anybody have this reel? If so what rod do you use? Basically Im asking Whats a good rod for a medium/heavy reel?

    Used one this past season, like it so far, only used it to bail dolphin offshore,

    get a custom rod, you'll pay them same as you will for a nice off the shelf one, so might as well treat yourself, just had a nice inshore rod built by www.anglersenvy.com, (well the wife did actually for christmas, but either way, check them out

    what length would work for you.
    there are some good choices for rods.

    a popping rod in 2 pc would be good for travel, have the backbone you need, and cast well.

    the penn battle are nice, we use them for stripers and mahi they work well, the surf guys also like them.
