    Penn 80W Help

I went through and check my 80. Everything appeared to be in good order. Now when I drop it in free spool it lets out line, but it still has a small bit or resistance. Also if I turn the handle to spool will spin, even with the lever in free spool. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Daniel

If its a lever drag should be a small knob in the middle of the handle area. adjusts the freespool tension.
At least my shimanos do. Not sure about penns.

It sounds like there is still some drag pressure on the spool. Did you change the drag washer? or the orientation of the washers?

    spool bearings........

can you pop the left side plate and pull the spool out? next is the drag cover and remove the spool shaft. you should see two spool bearings. if you can pull them out, you will probably find that they are gummed up or corroded.

    this and that
may be a bent cam if someone tried to adjust the drag without the reel in freespool
