    Penn 750ss issues

Hi, I acquired an old second hand 750ss and I'm having some trouble getting it working. I'm wondering where this gear and washer go? They're just dangling around freely right now:

    Spool shaft damaged

Hello......judging by the picture shown, the ratchet gear has pulled away from the spool shaft itself. To correct the problem properly, the shaft should be replaced with a new one.I may be a bit bias, bit I would recommend sending the reel into the Penn factory for complete service and repair. All parts are available to turn that reel into a fishing machine again!

    Take care..............Tom

Thanks for the reply Tom. Yeah, I was considering sending it into Penn, but since I own 2 other Penn reels, I'd like to learn how to work on them myself for the future. Is it possible for me to push/secure that ratchet gear back onto the spool shaft?

Sorry something else - I want to convert it to left-hand use, and for this I need 15BL-850 correct?

To remove the handle, is it necessary to remove the 15C-750 Pivot Screw? This screw is stuck in there and definitely will not budge. Thanks

    750 issue

Good morning.....Myself,I wouldn't chance trying to secure the ratchet on like that. A new spool shaft would be the way to go.And you're correct, part #15L-850 is needed and the 15c-750 must be removed to change out the pivot screw.Try soaking it in water for a few hours. It may soften the corrosion up a bit where you can back the screw out.
