Im looking for a good offshore wreck fishing outfit, mainly for cod, pollock and jumbo sea bass. I was also wondering if I could use the same outfit for blackfish? Thanks.

usually, the COD outfits are a little more beefy...BUT.you could use it...if you are close(DELCO. PA) you can stop over and check out some outfits.Lamiglass make some nice stuff.alot of guys cut surf rods for cod sticks..there are alot of GREAT choices for tog sticks.depending on the weights you are using.
Take a look at the shimano torium 20 and load it up with braid, thats what I use for wreck fishing. I have mine matched up to a start rod. The torium has the high ratio which I like
check out the Saltiga 30T for cod(offshore)and the saltiga 30 for more inshore/blackfish,Alot of guys use 7 1/2' - 8' for offshore cod/seabass..for inshore any where from 6-8' depending on fishing from PB or private..you can get some NICE Lamiglas 7' and extend to fit your need or they have a new 8' model that is killer..these would make GOOD outfits
Thanks for the advice guys. How does the penn special senator 112h sound for blackfish and offshore wreck fishing?
112 Penn...would be ok i guess, a little heavy..about 10oz more than some reels that may be better..holding a extra pound or so all day offshore gets old fast..but then look at my sig.GO light with Power
A 122H will do yo just fine for anything under 40 fathoms
I think im goin to buy the Shimano torium 20. But will the torium 20 be adequate for cod and the offshore wrecks when loaded with braid?
alot of guys use those.I have the 30(dont know why) but its big..the 20 will be better.same drags just a little smaller
