    Now im really confused (reels)

I got shimano tld 25 reels and shimano talus rods 5'8'' 30-60lb class. I am mainly going to be doing chunking for tuna 30 miles out of OC. I was going to use 50 pound braid with a 60lb leader and i was told that it will destroy that reel. I am a newbie and im sure you guys have covered this plenty of times, but im here to learn and try and get this right. What is my best solution to do for these reels? Yes im targeting YFT, but if mister BFT comes along i dont want to be in trouble with the wrong # line. I was going to put 50 lb braid with a cotton backing so it didnt slip? Is this a good option or is there a better one? Also if you could help me with the setup such as line to # swivel to leader to hook size that would also be great help.

that reel will be fine with 50lb braid and just cover the spool with mono so the braid doesnt slip

that 25 will be a fine reel for the job. Even with mono all the way. The price is nice, easy to maintain. Mono is reasonably priced. Nice set up. As you find a need for a 50, then add one to your spread. There are some nice 30 2speeds with plenty of attitude vs a 50.
