"NEW" Products from Penn
Has anyone seen these new products from Penn??? I see it as a feeble attempt to try and regain some market share.
A Lever Drag Torque with the old HT-100 drag and some new Versa-Drag
A Single speed International VW, to try and win back some old customers who have looked elsewhere
2 New Senators, One being a “Metal Senator” that looks like it’s from the 50’s.
2 New bait casters that look like they should come with Snoopy or GI Joe rods
3 New Spinners that will undoubtedly corrode and loose the screws to the bail (like every other spinner Penn has put out)
And a multi purpose reel with a line counter, that should really save the company.
Does anybody else have any other take on these new products? I am very happy that I switch over to Shimano products this year.

I like Penn...I know most people on this site like Shimano but Penn's been pretty good to me.....have not had any problems with their gear....their prices are getting better also...70VSW is prime time....bob

I'll Stick with Penn
I saw all of their latest gear at the iCast show in Las Vegas a few weeks ago. I was impressed with the new Single Speed Internationals, the metal Senator and the Torque 100. The new baitcasters have their place in the market, but may not be for everyone.
Go easy on Penn. There are alot of Americans that work for and depend on this company. Shimano and others have nice products too, but Penn is still the choice for many anglers around the world.

Love the Penn's, been using them for years, started out with Senators twenty years ago, caught just bout everything you can catch on them. Always been good to me, had a problem, I'd send them off and they'd fix em'. Moved up to the Internationals a few years back, love them too. Couple of friends got some that are 20-25 years old and they still fish them once a month year round. I cant ask for much more than that. Their american made and that means alot to me too. I'm pleased with Penn and will continue to buy there products. But thats just me.

Wait until you see the new "High-End" spinning reel Penn is coming out with. Look out Shimano!

“High End” spinner form Penn… should be interesting. Will this reel be competing with Van Staal?

I cant say much,,,,but have you seen the new "Torque" reels?

Anyway… if you mean the Torque 300 I saw it last year when they came out. Are you talking about the Torque lever drag?
