Gradyfish,
That was absolutely amazing very well written and amazingly informative. Thank you soooo much. Ya sadly i dont own a boat yet so my only options are charters or a guilde service on there boat. Good thing is when it comes to fishing im like a sponge im one of those few people that can be shown a knot once and remember it tie it 2-3 times and its perfect. As for gear a friend of mine took pitty on me and had a custom stick 80-130# built by i dont know who at the top of my head but compared to my surf gear it sure looks sweet. As for the reel it was kinda a gift from him but i got a penn int 50vsw. I know this may be a big bigger than the 30's recommended but im willing to deal with the drawbacks.
Now as far as the tackle this is where i truely hope to gain expierence from the charter cause i have made hand rigs from everything from trout to blues but this big fish stuff scares the hell out of me. Not a oooo my god im gonna go overboard but the fact ill make something and it will fail do to the major strain it takes.
Again i guess im just jumpy on the issue i want to get out there but things come in time and ill pick up the knowledge and the gear needed over time as well. I have no issues with buying the best and paying for it that much i learned from my father. So i just wanted to say again thank you for all the usefull help and hopefully ill be out there soon.
Thanks,
Pete
