    New Avets

Check these bad arses. They are perfect size for blues, stripes, albies, tunnies, etc. The drag is about the best ont the market. Similar to Penns HT100 on the internationals, but its the real deal. Bigger, smoother, and lasts longer. 100% aircraft machined, sealed bearings (the best I've seen) extremely well balanced, lots of power, etc. These 5 reels will have rare earth magnets installed so they will become like tournament casting reels. Out of the box they are way too fast. In free spool, the spool will spin for over 4 minutes! If you have ?'s please ask. I really like these reels especially for the $.

Avet makes a reel for just about every type of saltwter fishing there is. They all have that perfect machining expected, lever drags, single drags, two drags, 1 and 2 speeds. You name it.. In every reel the drag is the enitre surface of the spool! The one in the picture is the samllest. They basically make them for 20lb.-80lb. I'm impressed with them all and that why I became a dealer for them. If there is anything I can help you with just post it here. They range from $160-$999 for the TRX. I'll post some photos or send you some literature if you would like. They have been pushed to the hill and hold up. The long range guys in Cali have all switched exclusively to Avet.

Totally untrue. A good freind of mine just came back from the Excell 17 days trip and he and one other guys had the only two avets on the entire boat! They are good reels, but like most need some fixes right out of the box. But don't get carried away with how popular they are.

Maybe not every boat, but I was told that alot of the boats there have tested them and were impressed. I guess I should not have said exclusively. My buddy works on the Royal Star and another next to it, he said they were really impressed. He said for the lack of maintainence they can't go wrong. Whether the boats have worked out deals I'm not sure.

I was able to talk to my uncle very breifly today. He is at Big Island near Kona. My cousin doesn't keep his boat there though. I believe it is at another cove/inlet. He said it is a real trip sometimes to reach the depp water. I guess the winds can really pick up there. My uncle is not much of a fisher, but his trying to get more info for me.

I agree that the Cali guys don't fish exclusively avet's, and they aren't the most popular. But, it's the only reel that they fish straight out of the box. It requires no add on's or aftermarket work. You can't improve the freespool, there is no point in blueprinting them because the tolerances are so tight, and they have plenty of smooth #'s of drag.
