you could probaby use some TLD 25's and throw in a few used gold reels 30-50 .you may be able to look for some good deals during the "off" season., once you figure your budget you will have a better idea of what you can afford.

Go to the boaters world website and order 4 tld 25s, and 2 tld 50 2 speeds, Let us know when you get that part done, then comes the fun part of rigging spools of line. Also, check out captharry.com in Miami they have all sorts of combo packages on baits, lures teasers and leaders. Welcome to being broke, and always being worng when you buy something. KAHI

I'd recommend some TLD's if you are on a budget, but don't skimp out on rods, rods from boaters world are less then stellar unless you buy there high end rod. Also, Shimano rods are not the best. I'd recommend checking Kevin Bogan out in Pt. Pleseant, NJ I bought tuna rods from him, roughly $260 a piece with roller tip, removable butt, custom graphics and boat name etc. You can search him online, he has a website that will come up to give you an idea of price and such. More importantly, the blanks are excellent and give you great backbone, as well as feel which a store bougt rod cannot, for a comparable price. He also uses better components then most store bought rods. I've caught some nice sharks and big eyes on them so they passed my test with flying colors. Many Mako Mania winners use his rods, and a lot of top charter boats from Jersey use them as well. Even a big name boat from Pt. uses them for his tourney rods even though he is sponsored by other companies and sells his own rods. I think that tells you something.
