    thanks a bunch for all your input i really apreciate it. I went to the store and the 8000 looked way to big so i went with a 6000 and but ande 20# blue on it and put in on a 6'6 ugly stick hopefully it does well against everything i put it up to. again thanks you were a ton of help.

    should work reasonably well for you. my concern is that putting the 20lb on the 6000 reel really limits your line capacity. if, for example, you pitch a bait to a sailfish and he eats, he could dump that spool in the blink of an eye. at least with the 7000 or 8000, you'd have a minimum of 240 yards to protect you. Can't remember the specs on the 6000, but i bet you're only close to 200 yards or so. i agree, though, that the 8000 feels big. but in some instances, bigger is necessary.
