    need a rod for a saltist 40

Guys, I just bought a daiwa saltist 40. I like the reel I just need to get a rod for it. I would like to use it for
3 different types of fishing. 1. striper fishing with live bunker. (snag & drop boat fishing)2. tile fishing off oregon inlet NC 300' or so and possible a few drops in the NE canyons each summer.3. school tuna jigging at night in the canyons. I guess my big question is conventional or specialized jigging rod? Anyone have experience with the daiwa saltist series rods? Thanks.

IMO Daiwa makes reels not rods, if your know what I mean.

Visit your local tackle store and explain your target, they will point you in the right direction.

Had a rod built for the Saltist 30 couple months ago, love it, just ordered another one for an identical setup on another 30 saltist. Contact FLATLINER here on the board, Anglers Envy rods if your interested. They are sweet.

Its the blue one, that matches the new Saltist reel perfectly.

i use the saltiga, just a slight upgrade of the saltist.
i was using mine with a JPR budget jigger 239.00
    and a OTI 400g. appox 259.00
    both worked very well.
either would be a good choice.
and the custom can be made to fit your fishing style.
