Need Help
Hello,
hey guys very new to this sport, only have fished 2 times so far. Have only caght one grouper. What type of lure or bait to use for caghting grouper, flounder, and spanish? I am fishing off of a deep water pier with a rocky bottom that goes out about 25ft. before it goes to sand. If you dont remeber who i am, i am a deployed soldier across seas in the persain gulf area. Me and a few other soldiers finally got a couple of poles but need to know what to get for tackle and bait. thanks |

For the grouper, try and catch some other smaller fish from around the area to cut up for bait or use whole and alive. For the mackeral, it's hard to beat a silver spoon.

Hello, You might also want to try to catch a small fish 8" - 10" and rig it live (two hooks), one behind the head and one in front of the tail, then attach a baloon about 4' above the live bait. Cast the bait out and let it swim around. Keep am eye on the baloon. Good for Mackeral.
