That's what she said
It looks like you have a good start on it though.
Threr are a couple more articles here... http://www.rodbuilding.org/library/library.html
I haven't tried marbeling yet, but I keep seeing that people prefer "thick epoxy" and fast curing as well... Just a thought...
OK, I suck.
2 days of experimenting, and have nothing usable yet
Oh, and I can't take pictures either
One of the things about marbling is that you get a unique look on each rod - Some cool stuff there - keep practicing and you get it - but looking good to me already
Learned a little more. I thought I had something that was working better. Then added some gold metal flake and the chit went everywhere. I think the flakes "float" and it doesn't take much.
Note to self, don't use metal flake![]()
Looks good, Just think of gold flake like humans wearing gold. A little bit is fine, but when we wear alot of gold at once then its Mr T style..
Just got back from the rod building expo in high point and attended a seminar on marbling. Speaker said to let the finish set up a bit before marbling. He then said small dots are better. I have only done three rods that I tried to marble and am not an expert, but these two tips really stood out to me. Hope it helps. I like the pics. The other thing the guy said was, it can't be done wrong and can't be duplicated, each marble is a unique creation!!
