Are there any spinning reels with a capacity of 600+ yards 15lb line?
look at the "new" Fin-nor 95 OR smaller.. ...the 95 holds 600 of 20..

Jer,you could always pack it full of braid for increased capacity. The power pro casts a mile but carry scissors for cutting it and watch your fingers!![]()
Use 20 Lbs. of Power Pro Backing to 1/5 th of the line capacity in 15 Lbs. Mono. Connnect with UNI/UNI knot. The only issue as mentioned before is the need for scissors to trim tag ends and getting sliced up by the power pro.
Thank you, guys.
I'm very afraid of getting sliced up by power pro. I'm not even comfortable fishing with mono yet
I need the large reel for kite fishing off the beach or jetty. I would go with a conventional reel but it's hard to find a 2 piece 6'6" rod
I'm thinking about using a large spinning reel with a 12' or 13' telescopic surf fishing rod I already have.
I tried kite fishing yesterday, but I was using 8lb line and not paying attention to the reel with the fishing line. I almost got spooled. The rod bent and the line broke a few seconds after I dropped the bait/sinker. I think it "hooked" an algae ball or a fish bite.
So 8lb is not good![]()
CATFISHNBOX
haha nice Jer i like it
They make pre-rigged kite rods, that are spooled with dacron and have two sets of pre drilled Black's clips. Usually on an old style penn standards reel.
