Im game for anything new. I tie the braid and the twist. Whatever I feel like doing. Never had one fail and never had a mainline break in the last 4 years. (knock on wood). I use what works, and what I have been doing has been working. This knotless bimini thing, never heard of it, but bring it on.
Bobby, why don't you learn it and post a vid for us. Thanks bro.
i have experimented some with knots on an instronhere at work. i have found no matter what knot i test if it was pulled tight and lubricated good the knot itself usually doesn't break. i usually use a 1-3' piece of line when testing. if it was not lubricated and pulled tight it usually breaks close to the knot but not the knot itself. what is the most amazing part is how much higher than the rated strength some of the line actually is.
Ya may get bonus letters cuz I'm posting from my cell phone

I use a bimini. It doesn't slip if tied tight on the top.
The knotless part might be a reference to a rod winder finish. I take a small loop of line and lay it on the double and continue the wraps over the loop. after five wraps simply pull the loop back toward the terminal end of the loop, bringing the terminal end of the line with it
This ending is best done at the dock. It comes out smooth just like a plaite finish,,Runs through the guides like butter
I have never used nor know how to tie the Austrailian Braid but I do use the Bimini and the Spider Hitch. The Bimini looks cooler and works fine( I have yet to have one fail) but the Spider hitch is much faster and the same is true, no failures to date.
I was under the impression that the Bimini was 100% and the Spider Hitch was 90-95%. Am I wrong? Does anyone else use the Spider Hitch and if not why?
True, the Spider Hitch is much faster to tie but with 40# lines and up they appear to be much stiffer than a Bimini. They don't clear the roller tip nearly as cleanly as a Bimini. The Bt will bend around the roller much easier and has a smaller finished diameter. I think it unlikely that giving up a few percent in break strength will cost you many fish but if that hitch gets hung for a second it can be "terminal." I think a lot here depends on type of rod and guides.
I've seen some guys tie their bimini without tightly coiled loops that just make it a bit longer. It does result in a much softer knot to clear rollers and guides apparently without impacting the break strength.............go figure.

Knot Glue
If any of you are having trouble with using knot glue that dries or cures kind of stiff, try using aquaseal on your knots. Got this tip from my brother (SHUNT) who does alot of hard core surf fishing. I have tried it and it has alot more flex than using super glue.
I'm a Bimini man, i finish with a half hitch around one leg, then a half hitch around both legs then a Nail-less Nail knot (Amount of turns depends on line)
Plenty of spit and a good pull to tighten.
