Islander with Mylar

I was in the tackle shop today and found a pink and crystal straight from the factory with mylar strips around it. Has anyone tried these yet? Do they make any other color in this.

I have seen that model in black/purple, blue/white, pink... there may be more, but thats what I've seen so far.

Pitch - I have the pink and crystal with the mylar and have tried them twice. Caught bluefins once and yellowfins on the other trip. On the first we trolled it behind a spreader bar and on the second trip it was alone on the long rigger. sweet bait. they come in various colors but that is the only one I bought.

Pitch, i have tried the b/w, pink/crystal, black/purple, and black/blue.

they are AMAZING. and they catch the hell out of some fish. the best color to date has been the pink/white and black/purple. seem to outproduce almost all other of my lures 2:1 right now. they are great. i love em.

The blue and white with the mylar is the shit. Its got a little pink to it. Bill and I caught a couple big eyes on it and the yellowfins love it. Just give it a little trim.

Two years ago, Capt. Brian on the Run-Off one early morning while he was waiting on a weather report before we shoved -off pulled out his secret weapon......several Islanders with mylar stripes he had added and tied to the standard same-o..same-o Islander...I could not belive my eyes...why had'nt I thought of that..we had 11 GBT on that morning. Well last year I bought some mylar stripes and hand tied them on the Islanders for BFT. I had 5 on in 9 days of fishing, three in the boat...lost two. Well would'nt you know it, I was at the Icast Tackle Show in LasVegas this summer..visited the Islander booth and talked with the rep there..he showed me the new Islanders with the mylar stripes...I forget how many combinations there were...I told him They worked on the GBT and should do well. Now you can take the Islanders and add your own mylar....I do that now to some of my seawitches that I have tied. But Capt. Brian was the first I know of to add the glitter.

Finest kind, but you have to talk to the tackle shop. Just call the catalog and ask them to check in the shop. I forget the guys name.
