International Part's, Hard to Get ???,
Was told today by a fellow fisherman, that one of the local tackle shop's (well known I might add), said that part's for the older 30's, 50's & 80's were getting hard to come by. He was advised to only buy the "new" gold reels or just buy Shimano. Is this a sale's ploy or is this for real??? Frank

If Ignorance is bliss, Why aren't more people happy?
I know that there is a Penn representative who is a member - Hopefully he will speak up... So far I haven't had issues getting parts that I've needed...http://store.scottsbt.com/Penn-Parts...Page-W7C1.aspx

I just sent 3 Penn Internationals back to Penn to get repaired and re-greased. I normally work on them myself but the reels were so old I rather the pros do it at Penn. They were from early 1980's. They changed out some parts so my guess is they still have parts left.

Penn parts
Hello and good day.....Most Penn parts for the International series are still available.Over time, some parts have been running out of stock....such as side plates for a older 50....side plates for a older 80.....some are just out of stock.....but there also may be a compatible part to replace it also.....just depends on the part.A rough estimate I would give would be somewhere around 90% of the most used International parts are still in stock.Even if the parts are not available,we can still work with the reel and get it running for you in most cases. If we can be of any help at all concerning service/parts issues or questions, please feel free to contact us.
Take care..............Tom
