    Help with rods for 30ws

I have got a pair of Tiagra 30 wides that I need to build rods for. They will be used for a little of everything: trolling, chunking, bottom fishing...

Here is what I am thinking so far:
    1. spiral wrap with some turbo style guides
    2. shorter since we will usually fish out of an inboard boat
    3. slick butt or aluminum butt
    4. relatively light weight

I have built a few inshore rods and heavier offshore spinning rods but never any rods for conventional reels. If yall could point me in the right direction on a blank and some hardware pieces I would appreciate it. Thanks

    all depends on your budget.
    fuji guides are nice,
turbo or the new mini turbo.

for trolling and chunking a unibutt is the better choice.
for light weight a GF calstar is nice

It does look like the all aluminum unibutt is the way to go. With the unibutt is the blank usually trimmed or is a really short blank usually used?

I also found the SIC fuji turbo style guides in the LRSG variety which are the larger ones. I am still looking for the smaller ones but also considering the titanium framed Amtaks just due to the saltwater and corrosion issue. I would imagine a turbo style guide would work for the stripper guide as well as the two transition guides for the spiral but what would the best guide be for the underside of the rod?

Would this guide set up hold up to a decent sized yft or amberjack?

the Unibutt is the way to go.
the LRSG or LBSG or amtac are nice,
all will hold up to tuna or AJ.

I have 130 class calstar blanks w/ unibutts, standard wraps, Accurate 2 speed 30's. I have winthrop guides which probably wont work for your application, but the butt and blank work perfect on my "30 class" setup ! Every person that has held this setup has fallen in love with it.

I ended up ordering the parts from Paul and now have the rods mostly finished. No real fancy threadwork but everything is high quality and nice. Ill post some pictures after they get the last coats of epoxy.

Now I am trying to talk myself into going with JB hollow core with momoi diamond mono spliced in for a seamless transition through the guides over just powerpro with a knot to my mono. Any thoughts?
