Exclamation Help me decide how to spool this conventional reel

Hi to all! - this is one of first posts here and my name is Julian and I fish out of Fort Pierce inlet in Fl.
With my present budget, but not wanting to be cheapskate, I have just recently purchased a 4/0 133HSP Penn reel with the brass spool (holds 575 yds. of .022" mono = 30lb. test). It is on a new 7'-3" Star Deluxe 30 - 60 lb. rod w/gimble. (both are American produced)
I have been trolling with it, spooled with 40# Suffix, targeting Dolphin, Wahoo, sails, tuna, and whatever else ventures in my lures path out on the edge of the gulf stream. Sometimes a little bottom fishing in up 200'.
Question is: I would like to maximize this reels potential and maybe spool up with some dacron, maybe 65# Tuff Line XP.
I think I'm in need of a little more yardage as I have seen the light near the end of spool a few times already.
Also, if I use this some dropping, I think I can use the extra muscle the dacron could give.
    What do you guys think?
If you indeed suggest dacron, would you put mono backing on first, then a 25' wind-on last?
what knots are the best for this arrangement?
    sorry for the long post..
    Thanks

I can see it's dangerous for you, but if the government trusts me, maybe you could. Agitated88's Avatar

I have done some conversions already.
I find that if I use 30#mono (suffix =min. 45# breaking strength) and 150 yds. of 65# braid (half a spool) I will get 615 yds. total on the spool. plus 25' of 50# leader.
I'm just in a debate with myself on the right approach, the size, and amount of different product to spool with.

on another note, am I not to use mono backing at all, or just use a top shot or wind-on after the braid?
This braid stuff is totally new to me.
I don't know the functional difference of hollow or solid line either.
