Fiberglass will take more abuse than graphite, but is heavier. I guess it boils down to if you want graphite rods for your own personal use get it, for others to use, fiberglass is very very forgiving.
I have a whole bunch of Graphite fly rods that succombed to car doors and wicked tree bites.

    CSS,

Graphite is great if you want to have a light pole and is strong, not a pole you would want to use to sling a big fish over the rail though. Fiberglass is more forgiving and can be used to horse a fish but is much heavier. What I love to build on are composite blanks which are both fiberglass and graphite the best of both worlds. hope that helps.
