Awesome rod Capt. Mike. I do have a question for you though, well two actually.

1. Do you use braided line with a mono/flouro leader on those rods?

2. Can the knot you use for the braid to mono/flouro connection pass through the guides?

I ask because I have built with size 3 and size 4 micros and cannot pass a knot through the guides. I use 20lb pp to 14 flouro on the 3's and 10lb fireline to 14 flouro on the 4's. I'm tying a uni to uni for my connector knot.

Bird I can answer this as Mike and I fish together a lot...
Yes, and Yes. I tie a triple over hand surgeons knot and trim the tags very close. With his rods I cast with a longer leader out of the rod than with a conv. rod, that keeps the knot out the rod tip when casting. Mike uses another knot but I can't remember the name of it. Both of us are useing 20 or 30 pound braid and 17 pound mono as a norm...
