    Question Gaff Wraps???

I think it was Sea Draggin that put up a post on how to make a gaff wrap.

It worked great and looks pretty cool too!

Does anyone have any different styles or techniques for a different design?

    Thanks!

Thanks for the props, but I must give the credit to Arch Bracher and others that taught me.

The other thing I have seen, that would be cool used along with the half hitch wrap I showed, would be a turks head out of the same cord. Or maybe a different color cord? Anyway, they would make cool stops.

Those are absolutely beautiful. I've mastered the half-hitch wrap and the turks head but haven't a clue on the rod style wrapping. Does that hold up pretty well ? Do you just go to a rod maker to have it done ? What would you expect to pay for something like that? Thanks !

    Wasabi,
Thats just a rod pic that I stole off a google search, just to illustrate the turks head with a wrap. So those are rods, not gaffs, just to clarify the pic a little bit.

Learning that thread work is a whole different game, but Billy40 here on the board is a master. Shoot him a note and see what he says.

I would think it would hold up just fine and make a nice addition.

I like the turks head finish...I'll have to check into that.

Any other designs for the wraps? Any info and suggestions are appreciated.
