Thanks for the replies.
I'll try to tell how I did it.
The first thing is getting black and silver or black and white size a thread for the bottom. Start with black and then tie in the white. This will allow you to run them side by side.
The trick is to wrap the thread LOOSE. I held it in my hand and fell like that was to tight. (I made another tonight and will post pics later.) wrapping it loose allows you to move the thread when finished. When you are done wrapping both colors, tie off the white and continue with the black for a little bit.
Take a burnishing tool or your thumb and move the threads. I ran one direction on the top, turned the blank 90 degrees and ran the opposite direction, then did the same for the bottom and the other side. It should look like a series of s's going down the blank.
The next part is the critical part,(so I'm told) Put a THICK coat of finish on the wrap. The effect comes from the distance the top thread is away from the bottom thread. After applying a generous coat of epoxy let it spin. With in 6 hours of the first coat or until tacky you add the second set of thread
The next thread is the color that will show. I chose blue. The trick here is to again run two threads but you will need a sacrifice thread. You will remove the sacrifice thread from the rod when done with the wrap. Again run the main color thread and tie in the sacrifice thread. Run them together. BUT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AS THE FIRST WRAP. if you went left to right on the bottom go right to left on the top! This is critical to the effect. ONce the sacrifice thread is removed, take a hair dryer and blow dry the rod. This heats the finish and allows the top thread to "seat". Wait an hour or so and add a coat of finish like you would for regular wrapping.
Hope this is not to confusing and helps, I am no means an expert at this as this rod was my first. I have one on the dryer now that is red and plan on doing a green one on Tuesday. I will video the Tuesday wrap for ya'll if you want. It will at least show the bottom part which is the more important.
Here is the links I learned from.
