    A few fly handles

I finally got around to making a few handles. this is how i spent my veterans day. i cut and glued them up and turned them the next day. it felt good to turn something. they still need finish. you have to love nice wood. there is some figured maple, box elder burl, black ash burl, padauk, bloodwood, ebony, pau amerillo, purpleheart, and blackwood used in these handles. i just got around to taking some pictures

    Turned handles

Just beautiful, you are a true master. I have a wood lathe and have been thinking about trying some wooden handles for some of the fly rods. I can see it works very well. I love segmited turning.....Lynn

I am a machinist by trade, I wonder how a polished titatunm would look, more than likley too heavy....
